How does it work?

The ZPEG Engine adds an advanced three-dimensional Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT)-based human visual model to your X264 encoder.

Our Human Visual Model is applied in the two spatial dimensions and a third temporal dimension, extracting visually redunant information between frames before submitting to the x264 encoder. Compression gains are obtained as the pattern-matching algorithms of standards-based motion video compression algorithms becomes more efficient by leveraging variable sensitivity of the human eye to different temporal frequencies.
